Grimes: a bada$$ female that is going to take over the airwaves in the coming year, indie and mainstream. This brainy Canadian, who majored in neuroscience in college, applies multiple electronic layers to her sounds, creating an electronic euphoria. Her third studio album, Visions, from 2012 caught my attention, and I am beyond pleased that three years later her new album, Art Angels, is even edgier; an amalgam of synthpop and electronica that blasts.

triple j radio Australia

There is nothing I enjoy more than a cover, especially a cover that is performed by three kickass artists: Mark Ronson, Kevin Parker (of Tame Impala), and Andrew Wyatt (of Miike Snow). The talented, yet random group, teamed up on Australia's triple j radio station segement, Like a Version ( I see what you did there), and uniquely dominated the Queen of the Stone Age's, I Sat By The Ocean. The combination of Wyatt's hyperextended vocals, Ronson's beat dropping, and Parker's guitar slashing, lends for a major thrill.
